Singapore and Malaysia - 3rd Regional Newsletter 🌱

Hi Vegan Leader,

Welcome to our latest Vegan Leaders regional update for Singapore and Malaysia. We’re excited to share sustainability developments across the region, upcoming vegan events, and ways you can continue driving positive change within your organisation.

🌏 The Sustainability Landscape in 2026

Across our region, sustainability has moved firmly into the mainstream, from government strategies to corporate ESG dashboards.

πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬ Singapore Green Plan 2030 continues to guide national efforts around sustainable living, food resilience, and low-carbon consumption.

πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ύ Malaysia is advancing long-term sustainability objectives under the 13th Malaysia Plan (2026–2030), with stronger integration of climate resilience and inclusive growth.

At the same time, corporate ESG expectations are becoming more structured β€” with increasing scrutiny on Scope 3 emissions, supply chains, procurement, and reporting standards.

Food systems sit at the intersection of all of these priorities.

For corporate professionals, this creates a unique space where values, leadership, and measurable impact align.

🌱 What This Means for VLCM Members

Across our community, many members are already leading the way by:

β€’ Advocating for more sustainable catering policies
β€’ Introducing plant‑forward defaults at workplace events
β€’ Supporting ESG and DEI goals through food choices
β€’ Engaging procurement teams on sustainable purchasing
β€’ Building informal plant-based communities inside their organisations

In 2026, we encourage you to think beyond lifestyle β€” and toward influence.

Where does food show up in your organisation’s sustainability strategy?
Where could it show up?

Your leadership matters more than you realise. And if you’re looking to amplify your impact, build practical change‑making skills, and move from individual action to organisational influence, you may find valuable support in the Workplace Catalyst for Change Program, a professional development pathway designed to empower employees to drive plant‑forward, sustainability‑aligned initiatives inside their companies.
