About Us
Vegan Leaders in Corporate Management (VLCM) is a global community for professionals in corporate management and business functions who advocate for plant-based initiatives at work. We are currently seeking two exceptional leaders to join our board of directors. This is a volunteer leadership role for visionary individuals.
Who We’re Looking For
Strategic thinkers with experience in corporate leadership, ESG/sustainability, HR, legal, marketing, finance, technology, or program development.
Effective fundraisers or networkers able to open doors for partnerships, sponsorships, and grants.
Inclusive leaders who reflect and represent diverse communities and can amplify our mission globally.
Directors who can commit time, attention, and thoughtful oversight to strengthen governance and impact.
Expectations
Board members play a vital role in advancing VLCM’s mission and ensuring strong governance. Key commitments include:
Serve as an ambassador for VLCM, championing our mission and engaging stakeholders, partners, and the broader business community.
Provide strategic guidance by reviewing organizational goals, monitoring performance, and supporting long-term planning.
Uphold fiduciary and ethical responsibilities, including budget oversight and compliance with legal and governance standards.
Actively participate in Board meetings (held monthly, virtually), committees, and occasional strategy sessions.
Contribute to fundraising efforts by making an annual give/get contribution (amount to be set by the Board) and leveraging networks to secure resources.
Advocate for VLCM programs and initiatives, using your skills, time, and connections to amplify impact.
Time Commitment & Term
Serving on the board calls for careful preparation and active participation. Members are expected to attend at least 10 regularly scheduled board management meetings each year, review all materials in advance, contribute to at least one committee, and take part in occasional strategic planning sessions. Board service includes a three‑year commitment and requires upholding the highest standards of integrity, including full disclosure of any potential conflicts of interest.
