Strengthening Our Community

VLCM is growing quickly across India, bringing together corporate professionals who want to champion ethical, sustainable, plant powered values at work. Whether you're the only vegan in your organisation or part of a small group, this community is here to help you feel equipped, encouraged, and connected.
With active leaders from Bengaluru to Mumbai, our network is becoming a powerful collective voice for positive change within corporate India. To highlight the impact and importance of this movement, here are reflections from two respected professionals who recognise the value of communities like ours:

"Communities like VLCM play an important role in creating supportive spaces for professionals exploring plant-based lifestyles. By bringing these conversations into workplaces, they help normalize healthier and more sustainable choices while also highlighting how our food systems influence public health and the environment."

"Vegan" Bone China: Innovative, ethical homeware is emerging, such as Studio Earth's vegan bone china in Kolkota, that uses mineral-based bodies instead of bone ash.

Nutrient-Dense Mock Meats: Moving away from simple gluten-based chaaps, new products from brands like Good Dot and Greenest are using pea, soya, and wheat protein blends to create healthier alternatives.

Millet-Based Dairy & Snacks: With 2025 being a major year for millets, products like millet milk, popped ragi laddoos, and millet-based desserts are gaining popularity.

The "Desi" Plant-Based Twist: Restaurants are now focusing on veganizing traditional street food, such as vegan chaap tikkas, jackfruit kebabs, and vegan palak paneer (using tofu).

Healthy & Oil-Free Focus:New cafes, such as ADC Foods (Anti Diet Club) in Pune, offer high-protein frozen bites that require no oil to cook, catering specifically to fitness enthusiasts.

Innovative "Veggie Caviar"Fine dining in India is introducing vegan sushi rolls using tapioca-pearl "veggie caviar".

Clean Eating Over Labeling: Successful restaurants are moving away from labeling foods strictly "vegan" and are instead marketing them as "clean eating" or "whole food" to attract a wider audience.

Corporate & Religious Shift:In early 2025, campaigns successfully replaced thousands of meals in corporate offices and religious places with sustainable plant-based alternatives.

Increased Accessibility: Quick-commerce platforms now have designated "vegan" filters, and major chains like PizzaExpress India have fully adopted plant-based cheese options.
